Simplifying the EB-3 Visa Process for International Nurses

  • Education and Licensing: Begin with obtaining a nursing degree and securing RN licensure in your home country.
  • English and Professional Exams: Following that, successfully pass an English language proficiency test and the NCLEX examination.
  • I-140 Visa Petition: This step, initiated by the sponsoring employer, bypasses the PERM certification due to the “Schedule A” classification.
  • Adjust Status or Immigrant Visa Application: Depending on location, either adjust your status within the U.S. or apply for an immigrant visa abroad.
  • I-140 Filing Fee: $700, typically covered by the employer.
  • Optional Premium Processing: $1,225 for a decision within 15 days.
  • Adjustment of Status (I-485): $1,140 plus an $85 biometrics fee for applicants within the U.S.
  • DS-260 Processing Fee: $325, a $125 affidavit of support fee is needed for applicants abroad.
